Walmart

Here are a few of the pictures from an e-mail I received yesterday about Walmart in China. I guess it is all in 'what we get used to' as the store must be one of the big one and the markets within are so different than anything we are used to seeing. There were more pictures but uglier than some of these . The liquor department certainly is well kept and well stocked. I wonder what the prices are.

I'm afraid if I had to buy my meat here I would give it up. It just doesn't have any appeal. Looks like a bloody mess and I wouldn't know what I was eating.
Bins of rice, a staple for the Chinese people.

I have no idea what these are called , even with an orange in their mouth they look pretty ugly to me. I don't think I would like to shop in this Walmart store. I'm not happy shopping in the Walmart store in Crescent City with all of its Chinese imports. No quality. No style. What ever happened to "Made in America?" Some things should never have changed. So today, we got a glimpse of how the other half lives and no matter where we roam, we always find out there is no place like home. Don't go to far from it.
Yesterday I took a walk up to the barber shop and enjoyed the sunshine and appreciate the cars that stop to let me amble at my pace across the wide streets. it is about eight city blocks from my house and Gina the proprietress is only open from Tuesday to Friday. Gina is about five foot five, not skinny, not heavy, sort of an in between size with a head of curly hair. She is a talker, oh my she is a talker and rarely stops for breath. She can cover any and all subjects and nothing is sacred. She can start with school problems, as she did yesterday, and you realize how little you know about what is going on in the school system. If what she says is true then it is no wonder our children are not learning. There is talk of not teaching them how to do cursive writing, unimaginable, a sad day as not everyone can afford the fancy pods out there. I wonder if anyone heard the expression 'garbage in, garbage out' when it comes to teaching our children. Ah the generation gap is showing and I just don't 'fit' in anymore. I really don't think I want to.
I'm sorry you do not have Gina in your lives as she is a real character and she includes everyone waiting patiently for her to cut their hair. She orchestrates as her arms move and her fingers do magic with a head of unruly hair. She has everyone making a statement, laughing out loud and some of the older folks cringing as she takes on everything from politics to sex. It was worth the walk and I can hardly wait to return for a few more learning chapters by Gina.
So today, I hope you find a barber who will make you trim and neat while entertaining you with a few thoughts on what is going on in your world. Contribute a thought or two and make someone laugh out loud today. Hugs to all.
