Pride

There is a trucker out there by the name of John Holmgrin of Shafer, Minnesota who gets pulled over by the State Police often so they can have their picture taken by his truck. Here is a man who is proud, patriotic and a harbinger of good will as he reminds each and every one of us that the horrible bombing on September 11, 2001 did happen and there are three thousand souls to be remembered forever. I think each State should invite him for a visit and maybe it would remind a lot of the people who seem to have forgotten that terror reached the United States of America and the only religious edifice that should stand nearby is the one that had been destroyed on that day. Maybe another trucker will take up the banner and have the names and sights of those in the Pentagon and the brave ones that went down in a field far away from their own homes. It is an open wound that will never heal, nor should it.
Meanwhile another picture came through on the e mail this morning showing a 1910 Ford and a list of changes that have transpired in our country from one hundred years ago . Gas was bought at a drug store and folks made twenty-two cents an hour for wages. If we are not careful we may be ending up with the same wage earnings if our politicians have their way. The mind boggles at the fast pace change has taken place these last one hundred years, imagine what it will be like a hundred years into the future when our great-grand children will be ruling the world. Maybe like "Star Wars" or we could be moving on to other planets. How about "Water World" living on water crafts or maybe an island or two if there is any land left. Um. . . the imagination soars as I ponder the pictures of the day.
So today, use your imagination and take your mind off to what you think the changes will be in a hundred years. You may be on the tail end of a comet and not have to worry about it, but just how and what changes will be a little of what you created and left behind. It is 'hump' day already and we have a rainy day. It started with a shower or two yesterday afternoon and decided to stay on so the bushes and plants are stretching and heaving a sigh as they get a decent drink of water . . . and the weeds, those obnoxious little tweaks are grinning. Me, I'm smiling as I don't have to water and run up the water bill, but on the other hand it got colder so the heat went on . . . can't win so I might as well put on my coffee and have some peanut butter toast and watch the news. Make your day a good one and stay dry and warm. Hugs to all.
