Holes

I always thought I'd like to go on a 'dig' and use the tiny brush to push away sand and dirt to find a treasure. It must take infinite patience
You are getting a look at this picture this morning because I couldn't remember what it was until I put it up on the blog and got a good look at it. A hole, one of the deepest ones in our world, have no idea where, only that I thought the picture was very beautiful, like a paisley print and I saved it to share with you.
The e mails that came in last evening, which I pulled up and read this morning, were not uplifting at all. There was one called "The Canvas Prison" about the coverings the women, of the third world countries, must wear to shroud themselves from head to toe, some completely veiled, even their eyes do not show. It showed the horrors they live with and it is like looking back into centuries past, yet it is happening each day, every day in their world. Let us all hope that the current 'changes' being offered to us do not turn us into a similar life style.
There are more essays written by foreign correspondents telling of what is happening here in America , while our own newspaper people seem to be shy about writing anything 'real' and go ding bat over some Hollywood celebrity who has lost his way. All in all, we need to be aware of what is happening in our world and pay attention, not to the politicians rubbing their bad behavior into our faces, but to those who are working behind the scene trying to pull us up and out of a terrible recession which we all know, by now, is a depression. I am waiting for them to come forward and put a stop to the spending of money we do not have. Imagine the interest we pay out on a daily basis to China and other countries we are borrowing from. I wondered why Bill Gates and Warren Buffet didn't choose to use some of their billions to pay down our deficit which would help our children and grandchildren to survive their future. I wonder about the future of America because we live in a world of turmoil. I am just barely beginning to understand the seniors who went before me and why they spoke of things like war and poverty and bad politicians . . . some things just never change.
So today, try not to despair by all the negative news surrounding us. Try to take a second here, and a minute there to shore up your Faith, Hope and Charity, and live today as if it were your last day on earth. Who knows, you might just win a lottery and then you can adopt me and treat me to a style I've never had . . . a pedicure . . . a manicure . . . auburn highlights in my hair; well . . . my friend would ask 'where are you going to dig it?', I'm living in high hope and ignoring the end of that old saying 'dying in despair'. Make today a sunshine day and hum a lot. Hugs to all.
