"Curiosity killed the cat; satisfaction brought it back" . . . remember that old phrase? I had to look up the peacock and see what I could find out to share with you, if you didn't already know all about a peacock and his feathers. According to the information I read, it is an Indian Pea fowl, iridescent blue-green colored plumage with a 'tail' or 'train' with a crest on its head. The male shows its plumage when courting; wouldn't you know it? and the female has some plumage, not as big or bright, which she uses to ward off another female competing for 'her man' or if her young are in danger. They nest on the ground. They do have a high pitch cry and love to eat plants, flower petals, insects, reptiles and amphibians. Their 'thorns' are spurs which they can use in a fight. So now my dear friends you know as much as I do about peacocks. I haven't seen the rear of the peacock before this picture and find it is almost as pretty as the front view, well, at least interesting. Enjoy the day. Hugs to all.
