As you can see in this shot the older one stood by just in case I moved toward her baby. If you notice the baby Rose of Sharon has two colors, the deeper lavender in the bottom and pink flowers on topside. It should be a beauty when it is full grown. I had to cut back the bigger one and it looks a little like summer is wending its way and before we know it fall will be coming along. I was talking with my friend Helen yesterday and she tells me her brother, who lives in the Northeast mountain area, sees signs of fall already. The Aspen tree is the first to lose its leaves and they have already started to come down. Speaking of talking on the telephone, I got to talk with my son John in Alaska. He tells me that the weather patterns are changing there too, so if you are sweltering in summer heat, know that fall is coming sooner than we anticipate.
The mother deer was standing close by watching me watching her baby. Imagine what this duck has to say if we were lucky enough to be standing by the pond watching her lead her babies around. I don't know who to give credit to for this shot, but they did a fabulous job of it. I have only seen the ducks in a row, one following the other so it was fun to see the cluster. I wonder what momma is saying, she looks like she is ready to protect her brood.
Just to show you what a difference there are in taking pictures and waiting for the right time. Paula took this picture of the lonely tree in the empty lot behind our house. The one shot I took off the porch was taken in the early morning and is colorless. I had it on yesterday's blog. Paula went out on the porch at twilight and my ugly tree has turned into a beauty. No wonder the crows love it . . . and I called it lopsided . . . well, it is, but I have to admit it really has a beauty all its own . . . much like us, depends on the time of day for us to show our 'bright' side.

So today, remember the quote said by someone clever and a special person whose name I do not know, so I cannot give him or her credit . . ." TODAY is a GIFT that is why it is called the PRESENT." With those words in mind, go and make your day one to remember. Tie the seconds and minutes up in the wondrous joy of being alive, do something good for yourself just because you can. Hugs to all.
