Wisdom

Leave it to Maxine . . . she hit the nail on the head.
The e-mail that I received yesterday had me laughing so I thought I would share a little "Pilot Wisdom" as it was called.

"Never tell the Platoon Sergeant you have nothing to do." Unknown Marine Recruit.

"Clean it, if it's dirty, oil it, if it squeaks, but don't screw with it if it works!" -U.S.A.F. Electronic Technician

"If you see a bomb technician running keep up with him." USAF - Ammo Troop

"Yea, though I fly through the Valley of Death, I shall fear no evil for I am at 80.000 feet and climbing."

"If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter, however, it's probably unsafe in any case."

and last but no least . . . The three most common expressions for famous last words in aviation are: "Why is it doing that?", "Where are we?", and "Ah Sh-t!".

So today, I hope you are sleeping in and enjoying some pleasant dreams. I woke up at three a.m. and tried to stay put but it is cold in the house this morning so I had to go and set the thermostat and listen to the heat kick on. As long as I was up I put on the coffee and now that I smell the coffee I am awake and ready for a cup . . . but what good is a cup of coffee unless you have something with it . . . aah, early breakfast and that means at least one extra meal today as I'll be famished by ten a.m. I am going jigsaw hunting today and if I am lucky, I'll find some good hard ones to keep me occupied as the weather changes. Yesterday was a beautiful day so I worked out in the yard moving a few rocks to get to the dandelions that love to sprout this time of year. Here in Oregon they grow at least two feet tall and sprout five or six long stems, then bloom rich yellow heads before changing to the fuzzy seedlings that blow in the wind. They really are not bad looking flowers at all so why we call them weeds is beyond me, probably because they are invasive and grow in the middle of your beautiful lawn. Here I have rocks and they do very well. So off to a good day and remember it takes less muscles to smile than to frown so work those smile muscles a lot today. Hugs to all.
