Lucky Me!

A portrait of an Indian Chief, by Sharon.
Christmas is coming and I had Sharon do this for son John who is the original 'bah humbug' of our family.

When I had finished writing "So, You're Going To Have A Baby" I needed to find some pictures to make the story come alive and what I did find was a special friend, who was a member of the same writers group that I attended every Friday in Gold Beach. Sharon Guinn, a beautiful young lady, inside and out, a musician, a writer who tells tales of her twin sister and their antics, but tops the list by her works of art. She is a fabulous illustrator with a sense of humor that never stops. She does portraits and paints about every imaginable scene you can think of. Sharon has had an extremely busy year and I have not seen her as much as I would like to. It was a lovely surprise when I received an e-mail from her the other day and she told me she had entered a new show and had been very busy painting. I responded and said I'd love to see her new work and she sent some on. She even said I could share them with you. So today I am putting a couple of them on so you can enjoy her talent.

She calls this one "A Bad Hair day" How often have you looked in a mirror, first thing of a morning and looked at a head full of hair standing at attention.

AND, last but not least, good old Maxine in her quote for the day. So today, after you have enjoyed the trip to my very own special gallery, I hope you find this first day of your weekend pure pleasure. Some of you have storms coming at you so you may have to stay inside and catch up with yourself, or if the mood hits, go out and dance in the raindrops, but whatever you choose to do, remember you are in command of your day. As for me, I am going for a ride to the Port and see how many boats are out in the ocean today as the fishermen test their lines and their patience in hopes of catching one of those big salmon swimming around out there. Pat old me there was a huge sea lion out there who had caught a big fish and devoured it in three bites. Only four fish were caught yesterday. I think the fish are smarter than the average fisherman!
Hugs to all.
